Before  baptism  or  confirmation , we  choose  a  name  of  a  saint  .'I  believe  in  the  communion  of  saints  ' is  not  to  be  mechanically  said .When a  saint  is called  on  to  pray  for  us  , we  should  have  it  mind  that  some  saints  are  invoked  for  a  particular  kind  of  intercession.Saints  are  the  joys  of  heaven. Saints  are  to  be  reverred.  Saints  saintky  lives  are  to  be  emulated  . Their  heroism , thier  altruism ,their  constancy  in  the  pursuit  of  the  noble,  have  lighted  up  the  dark alleys  of  the  world  .You  can  only  be  a  saint  by  living  a  life  of  saints  in  this  world , not  in  heaven.
Saints  are  invoked  for    different  reasons. They  fervently  implore  help  from  God   to  help  them in  a  particular  disease  that  besieged  them  when  they  were  alive. Getting  that  cure  has  sometimes  made  the  pope  to  canonise  them  , Patron  of  the  disease  that  they  were  cured  of. They  can  be  patrons  of  the  kind  of  life  they  lived  or  the  soecial  interest  they  showed  when  alive.The  name  of  some  saints  occur  more  than  once. Do  not  be  surprised  then  when the  name  of  a  certain  place  is  added  to  them. This  might  be  as  a  result  of  the  place  they  really  devoted  their  time  to  ,  their  place  of  birth  ,  their  town  birth and  many  other  reasons.
